Yo straight off the jump, I don't have a hard knock life, troubled kid from the ghetto story. My testimony is that I have 2 loving parents who raised me in the church. Like most young knuckleheadz, I did my dirt here and there, but that's about it. I've been a huge
fan of hip-hop since I was a youngin growin up in Richmond, VA. My love was for the art of the genre, and I was drawn to the artists who brought tight lyrics, clever wordplay and good rhyme schemes. I crafted my own unique style, but I was influenced by 2PAc, Nas,
Wu-Tang, Rakim and Big Daddy Kane. Though I grew up eumlating and imitating those artists, I didn't start writing until 1999 at the age of 23. After about 7 months of honing my skills writing in my apartment and battlin cats on the internet, I was asked to rap for a
church event. I had never thought of doing Christian rap, I thought it would sound corny. But I surrendered my will to God and let Him use me. I soon realized that God had gifted me with the talent to put Biblical truth into rhyme form. Things started to take off,
so I hooked up with one of my partners from college and we formed S.A.G.A. (Soldiers Abiding under God's Anointing). We ministered together for 2 years, and in February 2002 I began my solo ministry. The Lord has tremendously blessed MYTHMinistries, and my third full
length CD is in the works.
Oh yea, my name. Well, The Myth was a nickname that I was given on January 1, 2000, about a month before I began doing Christian rap. When I started this ministry, I kept the name, and in October 2001 I came up with the acronym Messenger for Yahweh Transmitting Hope.
In April 2005 I changed it to Messenger for Yahweh Trusting in Him. On April 24, 2006 I changed it again to This Hype Evangelist Magnifies Yahweh Thru Hip-Hop. On October 31, 2006, The Lord gave me a new spelling and a new motto for the ministry. T.H.A. M.Y.T.H: it's
