Jessie Laine Powell is a uniquely gifted Christian artist that captivates her listeners through a powerful anointing. Jessie's love for Christ radiates hope, peace, and acceptance. Jessie once captured her audience's hearts and souls with her unique renditions of classic jazz favorites. Her gifts coming from God, she now uses her talents to spread God's Love. She is in a category all her own, a New Gospel Jazz songstress and writer.
Jessie released her debut CD entitled, " On the Edge". This music, inspired by God, encourages each listener to have faith and hope in the midst of living "on the edge" of everyday circumstances, and in claiming their miracles.
Her Jazz Music experience includes opening for legendary artists such as Nancy Wilson, jamming with Pharaoh Sanders and working with Calvin Keys; among others. Life in the fast lane of California entertainment was paved with many unplanned twists and turns, served up with near death experiences, the death of her baby boy, and bouts of fear. These events changed the course of her life and began her quest to know her purpose. Jessie was at a crossroad. There was a greater purpose for her gift. She soon found the true meaning behind the music. The path brought her full circle to the gospel music of her youth. She rediscovered her love for it as she has established herself as a true over comer.
This Bible-based Christian woman has found true peace of mind. Now coming full circle, Jessie has found joy in sharing music that uplifts and brings encouragement to her listeners through a creative blend of melodic jazzy melodies that make you feel relaxed and right at home. She loves and is sincere about every word of praise and pain she sings.
Jessie has established JLP International Ministries. This non-profit organization holds workshops around the country, as an outreach ministry, geared towards addressing family issues and needs in a positive uplifting but life changing way.
Jessie is a CMP (Christian Music Presenters) Endorsed Artist.
She is prayerfully and actively working on her next project, an upcoming CD, singing of the awesome works and ministry of God's salvation for the lost and hurt souls of the world.
