Arleen Crawford is a native of Georgia who now resides in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Arleen is multi-talented and multi-faceted. She wears a lot of hats and strives for excellence in all that she does. In addition to her music ministry, she is an ordained itinerate preacher (Minister to Young Adults and Women’s Ministry). Another facet of “The Gift”. She is a highly sought after plenary speaker, conference facilitator and psalmist. Her undergraduate degree in music postured her to develop an expertise that focuses on vocal techniques and methodologies for choirs, speakers, and soloist to equip them to praise God skillfully. As evidenced in praise and worship style of many songs on her debut project, Rev. Crawford also presents workshops that focus on the call to ministry and the biblical perspective of Worship and Praise.
Her gift of song has allowed her to work with many renowned Gospel artists at the national level as well as within the local Washington, DC Metropolitan area. She has been privileged to work with and share the stage with such gospel artists as CeCe Winans, Shirley Caesar, Yolanda Adams, Byron Cage, The Gaither Brothers, Twila Paris, Steven Hurd, BB King, the late Rev. Donald Vails and many more.
Arleen’s classical operatic vocal abilities afforded her opportunities to perform the National Anthem for the Democratic National Convention during the Presidency of Former President Bill Clinton and for Department of Defense functions.
Her vocal influences reflect multiple musical genres including opera, Gospel, Jazz and R&B. While there are thousands of vocalist that she has the utmost respect and admiration for the artist that have influenced her style the most include: Leontyne Price, Jesseye Norman, Kathleen Battle, Mahalia Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Stephanie Mills, Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams, Rachelle Ferrell, Karen Clark-Sheard, Lalah Hathaway, the late Donnie Hathaway, the late Sam Cook, the late Rev. Donald Vails and the late Luther Vandross.
